The Youth Services Department at the Crawfordsville District Public Library would like to invite all children up through the age of 18 to register for the summer reading program, <\/span>\u201cReading Round-Up\u201d. Registration begins Monday, May 23, 2022. You may register at the library or online at <\/span>www.cdpl.beanstack.org<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>

This year children will earn prizes for reading for a specific amount of time. Once they register (at the library) they will be given a reading chart packet. They will read and earn prizes until they have reached the last space on the reading chart where they will receive a book and a t-shirt (for elementary)\/a book and a tote bag (for preschoolers). There are 4 extra challenges the children may do for extra prizes. Those are included in the reading chart packet.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Every day the children may look for <\/span>Woody from Toy Story<\/i><\/b> in the library and enter a weekly drawing to win a small prize. There will be <\/span>picture searches<\/i><\/b> up at the library for children to find pictures of Toy Story, western items, and wanted book characters.<\/span><\/p>

There will be a new <\/span>western-themed craft <\/b>out every Monday. Children may drop in to do those while supplies last. Students who have finished K-4<\/span>th<\/span> grade can join us on Tuesdays at 4:00 for <\/span>elementary activities <\/b>(registration is required for this event). All ages may join us on Wednesdays at 10:00 for <\/span>story time. <\/b>\u00a0On Fridays, at 10:00 all ages can join us for <\/span>activities outside by the pavilion<\/b>. In case of inclement weather, we will have Wiggle and Giggle (ages up to 5) inside on Fridays.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The teens will also keep track of time spent reading. For every hour read teens will fill out a reading ticket. They may bring in 2 tickets and choose a prize from the treasure chest and then place those tickets in a bucket for weekly and grand prize drawings.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The program ends Tuesday, July 12, 2022.\u00a0 All time for reading must be turned in by 8:00 p.m. that day.<\/span><\/p>
