Whether you are seeking a book for enjoyment or information, our staff always have several recommendations to fill your to-read list. Spring is coming soon, and Montica is ready with several books on gardening. If you are working with limited space, check out \u201cThe Downsized Veggie Garden<\/a>\u201d by Kate Copsey (635 Cop), which provides great information on how to create a small, low-maintenance, but productive garden. There are ideas on creating gardens on balconies, in containers, indoors, and more. For more container ideas specifically, look at \u201cContainer Gardens<\/a>\u201d by Southern Living (635.986 Con), which shares over 200 ideas with step-by-step techniques and tons of beautiful pictures to inspire you. Want to take your gardening to the next level? \u201cPlant, Grow, Harvest, Repeat<\/a>\u201d by Meg McAndrews Cowden (635.9 Cow) details how you can master the art of succession planting, a technique that involves planting multiple crops throughout the growing season so that they ripen at different times.<\/p>

Beyond the numerous gardening books that we have at the library, we also have a Seed Library that just opened. Stop into the library anytime during our open hours and visit it on the second floor. You can select up to ten free seed packets to take home with you and plant! We also have a free Gardening Series<\/a> presented by the Master Gardeners of Montgomery County happening at the library every Tuesday evening in March at 6 pm. Register to attend on our calendar<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>

If you are looking to dig into a good story, Ivette highly recommends the bestseller \u201cThe Measure<\/a>\u201d by Nikki Erlick (FIC Erl): \u201cThis novel is about understanding that we always live on borrowed time. What would you do if you knew how much time you still have in this world? How would you relate to others if you knew how long they would be around?\u201d Mary greatly enjoyed the emotional story \u201cWhen We Believed in Mermaids<\/a>\u201d by Barbara O\u2019Neal (FIC O\u2019Neal): \u201cThe tale of two sisters, an ocean of lies, and a search for the truth. Long buried secrets and devastating truth kept them apart for far too long.\u201d She also loved the must-read genre-bender \u201cAll the Colors of the Dark<\/a>\u201d by Chris Whitaker (FIC Whitaker): \u201cA missing person mystery, a serial killer thriller, a love story, a unique twist on each. A novel about what lurks in the shadows of obsession and blinding light of hope.\u201d And, of course, any book by Liane Moriarty is always a great choice. Lisa recommends checking out both \u201cHere One Moment<\/a>\u201d and \u201cApples Never Fall<\/a>\u201d by Liane Moriarty (FIC Moriarty).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

What about a good movie or TV show? Dennis says \u201cLegendary actor Gene Hackman has passed away at the age of 95. Hackman portrays Coach Norman Dale in “Hoosiers<\/a>” (DVD and BR FIC Hoo), which I feel is indeed the best sports movie ever! P.S. Many scenes were filmed right here in Montgomery County!\u201d Dennis also suggests \u201cSaturday Night Live: The First 5 Years<\/a>\u201d (DVD FIC Sat): \u201cSNL turns 50 this year! Here\u2019s a neat 2-hour special featuring the cast and skits from the first five seasons.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>
