Wellness is about more than just physical health. Wellness also includes mental, financial, and spiritual health, just to name a few. If you find yourself in need of a little self-care, take a moment to explore what we have available that might bring a little calm into your life.<\/p><p>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/cdpl.polarislibrary.com\/search\/title.aspx?ctx=3.1033.0.0.1&amp;pos=1&amp;cn=335140\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Real Self-Care<\/a>\u201d by Pooja Lakshmin, MD (613 Lak) tells us that self-care isn\u2019t about buying things to make us happy or signing up for a class. Rather, it\u2019s an internal self-reflective process. Lakshmin explains that self-care is a way to be, not comparing yourself to others online or doing superficial things to feel good. She uses a down-to-earth style to provide a step-by-step program that makes practical changes in your life. Learn how to set boundaries, deal with problems, and show yourself some real self-compassion.<\/p><p>If you feel like technology is overtaking your time and need help stepping back, do yourself a huge favor and check out \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/cdpl.polarislibrary.com\/search\/title.aspx?ctx=3.1033.0.0.1&amp;pos=1&amp;cn=360468\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tech Life Balance: 101 Ways to Thrive in a Digital World<\/a>\u201d by Taino Bendz (303.483 Bendz). This book takes a very practical approach to curbing your use of \u201cAttention-Grabbing Technology.\u201d As the title suggests, the author gives 101 ways to make this happen, and each method has a difficulty level of 1, 2, or 3, with 1 being the easiest. This format makes it simple to take concrete steps towards a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.<\/p><p>Want to improve your body\u2019s overall health in a simple, straight-forward way? \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/cdpl.polarislibrary.com\/search\/title.aspx?ctx=3.1033.0.0.1&amp;pos=1&amp;cn=357468\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sleep Drink Breathe: Simple Daily Habits for Profound Long-Term Health<\/a>\u201d by Michael Breus, PhD (613.7 Breus) explores the science behind these three basic functions of life. Dr. Breus presents a three-week program to help readers make small adjustments to feel better physically, mentally, and emotionally.<\/p><p>Not all of the materials on this display are books! For patrons interested in meditation, there are many excellent CDs and DVDs to choose from as well, such as, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/cdpl.polarislibrary.com\/search\/title.aspx?ctx=3.1033.0.0.1&amp;pos=1&amp;cn=358677\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Positive Morning Affirmations<\/a>\u201d from the Grow Within series (DVD 158.12 Positive). We even have various courses available that come with a DVD and a book, such as \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/cdpl.polarislibrary.com\/search\/title.aspx?ctx=3.1033.0.0.1&amp;pos=1&amp;cn=315666\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Practicing Mindfulness: An Introduction to Meditation<\/a>\u201d presented by Professor Mark W. Muesse of Rhodes College (Great Courses 158.12 Pra).<\/p><p>These titles and several others are currently on display through the end of August.
