Brenda enjoyed the feel-good story \u201cEddie Winston is Looking for Love<\/a>\u201d by Marianne Cronin (FIC Cronin): \u201cA funny uplifting story about the power of friendship and finding love in unexpected places. Eddie is a 90-year-old who volunteers at a charity shop. He has a compassionate eye for the stories behind forgotten objects.\u201d Emily loved reading the incredibly moving story \u201cAuschwitz Lullaby<\/a>\u201d by Mario Escobar (FIC Escobar): \u201cBased on the true story of a German nurse tasked with setting up a \u201cschool\u201d for children at Auschwitz. A story of the power of love and strength\u2013even when all hope seems lost.\u201d<\/p>

If you are looking forward to exploring outdoors now that the weather is slowly and sporadically getting warmer, don\u2019t miss Montica\u2019s pick, \u201cHiking Indiana<\/a>\u201d by Bloom, Phil. (917.72 Blo). This book is packed with ideas for when you are ready for a hiking adventure but not sure where to go. Includes information on the Dunelands, Glacial lakes, Wabash Valley, Hoosier National Forest, and more.<\/p>

If just exploring nature writing is enough for you, check out the fascinating book \u201cThe Age of Deer: Trouble and Kinship with Our Wild Neighbors<\/a>\u201d by Erika Howsare (599.65 Howsare). Susanna says this \u201cexplores the many contradictory ways we interact with deer through beautiful, well-researched prose.\u201d This book, which came out in 2024, was a finalist for several awards.<\/p>

Christie\u2019s pick explores paranormal happenings in nature: \u201cThe Paranormal Ranger: A Navajo Investigator\u2019s Search for the Unexplained<\/a>\u201d by Stanley Milford, Jr. (133.10973 Milford). This memoir from a Navajo Ranger shares eerie and bizarre cases of unexplained events in the Navajo Nation, including mysterious livestock mutilations, skinwalker and Bigfoot sightings, UFOs, and malicious hauntings. If you enjoy this genre and want to dig further, join us at the library on the fourth Wednesday every month at 5 pm for our Mystery of History Club, which is led by Christie and explores a different mysterious topic every month!<\/p>

Marva\u2019s picks from our children\u2019s collection are perfect for April. Check out \u201cApril Fool\u2019s Surprise<\/a>\u201d by Abby Klein (J FIC Kle) and \u201cArthur\u2019s April Fool<\/a>\u201d by by Marc Brown (j E Bro) for a fun story time.<\/p>
