The Human Library is hosting an event on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Crawfordsville District Public Library from 10am to 2pm.

Have you wanted to ask someone questions about their religion, race, or experiences but felt too uncomfortable? Or have you encountered prejudice or misconceptions about yourself, and you didn’t know how to talk about it with other people?

At the Human Library, actual people are on loan for conversations. They have experienced prejudice, bias, or discrimination based on aspects of their person, heritage, occupation, or life experiences. The Human Library creates a safe space for conversations where Readers and Books can openly discuss topics that are usually stigmatized or taboo. The emphasis is on acknowledging and challenging the prejudice we all carry towards one another. At the Human Library, we invite all questions, and our Books engage in sharing their personal experiences with Readers. Addiction (Recovering Alcoholic) 2. Disability (Cerebral Palsy) 3. Ethnicity (Biracial) 4. Family (Child (or Parent) of an Drug User) 5. Gender & Sex (Nonbinary) 6. Health (Chronic Pain) 7.
